The Most Useless Facts That You Will Ever Hear From Me Part Three

2. Catfish are the only animals that naturally have an odd number of whiskers (different amount on each side of its face).

3. Your ribs move about five million times a year (one movement for every time that you breathe).

4. Nutmeg is extremely poisonous if injected intravenously (directly into your veins).

5. A cockroach will live for nine days without its head before it starves to death (so if you want to kill one, aim for the body instead of the head).

6. A species of earthworm in Australia grows up to ten feet in length (just imagine kindergarten kids trying to make wedding rings out of those).

7. An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain (and probably bigger than some human's brains, too).

8. It takes 8.5 minutes for light to get from the sun to the earth (I can easy nuke my dinner before the sun's light reaches me).

9. Lightning strikes the earth about eight million times a day (just hearing that makes rethink my chances of surviving the next lightning storm).

10. The airplane Buddy Holly died in was the "American Pie" (thus, the name of the Don McLean song came to be).

11. Golf courses cover over 4% of North America (how can such a boring pastime be given so much space?).

12. The average person will accidentally eat jut under a pound of insects every year (I have no right to call myself a vegetarian anymore).

13. Until 1994, world maps and globes sold in Albania only had Albania on them (just imagine the looks on small children's faces when they learned that Albania had neighbors or that there were just non-Albanian people outside of Albania).

14. The only real person to be a Pez head was Betsy Ross (I know she is important and everything, but why her?!).

15. When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, the stadium becomes the state's third largest city (I'm guessing there must be a mayor and maybe some city laws involved in order for this to truly work out).

16. A dragonfly has the lifespan of 24 hours (this is after they spend about a year going through the egg and nymph stages of their life cycle, so they only spend 24 hours as an ADULT).

17. A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds (so as an owner of a goldfish, always remember that they will never remember you in the morning).

18. A dime has 118 ridges around the edge (seriously, who is that curious about the dime to where they would count this?!).

19. If you yelled for eight years, seven months, and six days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee (why bother even trying this?).

20. The strongest muscle in proportion to its size in the human body is the tongue (now, I kinda want to start doing tongue exercises).

21. Every time you lick a stamp, you're consuming 1/10 of a calorie (so office lackeys could potentially get all of their calories from stamp licking considering how many envelopes they have to send out).

22. The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood thirty feet (why would someone want to measure this?!).

23. Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour (that's one way to lose calories...).

24. It takes a sloth two weeks to digest the food it eats (so Flash Hundred Yard Dash is still digesting the food he ate for lunch the day Nick and Judy visited him by the end of the movie).

25. 2,000 pounds of space dust and other space debris fall on Earth everyday (I'm just glad it doesn't fall in one place).
